Virtual Tour
A framework that would be used to build live, interactive tour experiences shared over streaming services.
Looking to revolutionize the way people explore physical sites across the globe, we created the Virtual Tour Application (V-Tour) framework. Built on 360 degree video, photos and text descriptions, V-Tour is designed to quickly and effortlessly adapt to any location imaginable. With the added bonus of a standalone web application, users can revisit their experiences at any time. Our team put careful consideration into ensuring the framework was user-friendly, so anyone can create and enjoy unique tour experiences with ease.
Involvement
As the sole designer and developer, I had the privilege to collaborate with a team of talented videographers. They provided me with valuable technical information that helped me to create and update the prototypes throughout the development process. Together, we worked seamlessly to ensure that the final product met the highest standards of quality and provided an engaging and immersive experience for users.

Recreating an in-person experience.
One of the first hurdles we faced was creating an interactive tour that could serve as a fantastic complement to the in-person experience, rather than a substitute for it. As we all know, the early days of the pandemic brought some tough times for our clients who relied heavily on in-person tours as a key offering. We had to put our thinking caps on to help them find new ways to keep their operations running smoothly while still building excitement and anticipation for their amazing tours and locations.
Adaptable and simple framework.
With a focus on versatility, we worked tirelessly to develop a framework that could handle even the most complex locations while remaining accessible for more straightforward sites. After extensive testing and prototyping, we designed a guided option for tour guides to easily lead users through the tour process. Additionally, a more intricate, searchable version was developed for users to explore the tour experience in greater detail. Our commitment to creating a versatile and user-friendly experience ensured that all clients could benefit from the application.
Useful, non-invasive elements.
With the goal of keeping the tour and media content as the star of the show, we made sure that the menu and structural components were intentionally minimal and unobtrusive. Our team designed the framework to be visually clean and highly adaptable, with modular elements that could be easily repurposed for different sections of the tour.
